Via Ferrata

Between hiking and climbing, via ferrata allows you to manoeuvre along the specially made itineraries on the rock face, with the help of steps, ladders, handrails and other amenities.
 
The person taking part also known as a “ferrariste” is attached to a twin cable during the whole ascent, which allows you to manoeuvre independently.

There are no less than four Via Ferrata itineraries in the Drôme, with levels from easy to very difficult :
 

• La Berche, near to Lus-la-Croix-Haute
• Le Pas de l’Echelle, near to Chalancon
• Le Claps, near to Luc-en-Diois
• Chironne, near to Chamaloc

The limestone rock faces of the Drôme form an exceptional back drop for doing Via Ferrata. The landscapes that you see all along the itineraries are breathtaking. Do not hesitate to contact a qualified climbing guide or a mountain guide to enable you to discover these exceptional itineraries.
